- "Paul an apostle - sent neither by human commission nor from human authorities, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead..." (1.1)
- "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel..." (1.6)
- "Am I now seeking human approval, or God's approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ." (1.10)

Thoughts on Galatians 1:1-10
How easy is it to become distracted? Why do man made concoctions seem easier to follow than God made directions? Immediately in Paul's letter to the Galatians there was the duality of human authority and God's authority...

I am in the struggle. But I have a deadline.
I am in fear. The fear is that I am following the desires of man in stead of God's mystical plan. I had a conversation with a friend about this "third" place and the desire that is is sprouting from all in my midst to participate. I can't help but wonder, "Am I doing this for them?" "Am I at my whit's end," I ask "because other's want to see if it can be done?"
If I'm to do this it should be for the sake of seeking God's heart.
I believe that there is beauty in that search. I believe that others will see a man on a mission and be inspired to declare their own mission. Maybe "mission" is the wrong word to use. But, the feeling is purpose, passion, and all the other churched words that make too much sense not to use.
Let the quest define the goal. The arrival should not prepare our departure. The desire to go on this road is enough for me. Let the journey be long and difficult. For, that is what will make us strong. Let us not fall into temptation; believing that we have it figured out and all we need to do is acquire it - that all we need is to arrive. We must never think that. We must continue to dream. We must continue to allow newness to creep in and change our bearings. We will chase God's heart as it pulses in whatever direction. Even if it is standing still.
